Blackpool came from two goals behind to peg the Blues back to a 2-2 draw at Portman Road. Town looked to have had the game won via a first half own goal by Angel Martinez and a Tommy Smith header after the break, but subs Elliot Grandin and Kevin Phillips claimed a point for the Seasiders.

Town deserved more from the game with Lee Martin slamming in a superb equaliser and the winger should have been awarded a second half penalty prior to the Serb’s final moments winner.

The Blues, who are still waiting on defensive target Sean St Ledger,are in action at Birmingham tonight in a match rearranged from earlier in the season due to the Midlanders’ Europa League campaign (KO 7.45pm).

Town’s FA Cup campaign came to a third round end for the fifth time in eight years as the Blues lost 3-1 at Hull City. The home side were 2-0 in front at the break via Aaron Mclean and Tom Cairney before half-time sub Jason Scotland pulled one back for Town, but Cameron Stewart sealed the Tigers’ place in round four in injury time.

Town’s 2012 got off to the worst possible start with goal-phobic Nottingham Forest leaving Portman Road with a 3-1 victory. Marcus Tudgay and Garath McCleary put the visitors - who hadn’t scored in their seven previous games - two goals in front at the break, then after the Blues had missed a number of chances, skipper Grant Leadbitter pulled one back from the penalty spot before Tudgay sealed Forest’s victory with his second of the afternoon.

The Blues manager will be forced into one change with central defender Ibrahima Sonko suspended, while Jason Scotland faces a fitness test this morning after missing the Madejski Stadium game due to the hamstring injury he suffered at Leicester on Boxing Day.

Lee Bowyer netted his second goal for Town as the Blues stretched their unbeaten run to three games with a 1-1 draw at Leicester. Michael Chopra had already missed a penalty by the time Bowyer scored in the third minute, Paul Gallagher converting a Foxes spotkick for handball against Jason Scotland in the second half.
